Resort delighted to receive ‘Middle East’s Leading Golf Resort’ and ‘Dubai’s Leading Golf Resort’ while celebrating the Resort Course’s 10th anniversary

The Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa, flagship property of Jebel Ali International Hotels, continued its award-winning streak for the seventh year running at the 15th World Travel Awards recently held in Dubai. Travel agents across the globe voted the 128-acre resort ‘Dubai’s Leading Golf Resort’ and ‘Middle East’s Leading Golf Resort’.

Co-sponsored by BBC World, the World Travel Awards is widely publicised and recognised as ‘the Oscars of the global travel industry’. This year’s Middle East event was held at the Atlantis Hotel with a star-studded attendance list including the current Miss World, Zi Lin Zhang of China.

The World Travel Awards are without doubt the largest most prestigious and highest profile travel awards, with ceremonies taking place in six continents across the globe. Voting is done on line and is open to members of the travel industry worldwide.

For the Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa, the awards are well timed as the resort also celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Resort Course, designed in 1998 by Swiss golf course architect, Peter Harradine.

David Thomson, General Manager of the Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa said he was delighted to receive the honours. “The World Travel Awards are without doubt the largest, most prestigious and highest profile travel awards, with ceremonies taking place in six continents across the globe. It’s wonderful to be rewarded by the trade in such a special way and I am extremely proud of the resort team whose incredible hard work and dedication contributes to making this Resort the special award-winning place that it is.”

On the back of its regional wins, the Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa has also been nominated as the ‘World’s Best Golf Resort’, which will be announced in Turks & Caicos in December.
